Research

My research topics lie in the general area of human-computer interaction (HCI), specifically multitouch and sensor-based interaction, intelligent avatars and multimodal corpora annotation (see ANVIL).

In the past, I initiated the first SLTAT workshop (Berlin) and co-chaired the 9th International Conference on Intelligent Virtual Agents. I continue to act as programme committee (PC) member at various conferences, e.g. AAMAS, CHI, ACHI and IVA. I have also acted as scientific advisor for the European Commission, RWTH Aachen and KU Leuven.
